Sinek, Simon. “Simon Sinek on Millennials in the Workplace.” YouTube, uploaded by David Crossman, 29 October 2016,
Simon Sinek is an author, motivational speaker, and marketing consultant. In this video he is interviewed about millennials in the workplace. Sinek states that there are four things that have contributed to the millennial stereotypes of being self-focused, lazy, and entitled – these four things are parenting, technology, impatience, and environment (1:12). Sinek takes an nonjudgmental approach to explain his thoughts, he believes that rapid innovation and being raised in a world where everyone got a trophy makes for a generation that is more insecure than the generations before it. Throughout this interview different millennial stereotypes are defined and discussed, and how this reflects on millennials in the workplace is acknowledged. I will use this source in my research paper to differentiate between the fiction and non-fiction of these stereotypes, to support my rationale that stigmas can translate to difficulty in career success, and how the workplace may need to adapt for millennials, and not the other way around. This source will be a key component in outlining the intentions of my research paper.
